Film Dirty Vote is a documentary film that contains allegations of fraud in the implementation of the 2024 election. This film has many pros and cons because it is considered to be able to influence people's decisions in determining their political choices, especially in the 2024 presidential election. Online media detik.com and Republika.co.id in carrying out their functions as mass media, actively framing this event by displaying their respective reporting styles and choosing their respective points of view. The purpose of this study is to find out how detik.com and Republika.co.id in building the construction of the Dirty Vote film news in the 2024 presidential election. Through the framing of the news, it can form a picture of reality in the minds of the audience.
This study uses a type of qualitative research assisted by the framing analysis technique of the Zhongdang Pan and Kosicki model which uses analytical tools: syntax, script, thematic, and rhetorical. The data collection technique in this study uses documentation by taking 5 samples of news in online media detik.com and Republika.co.id, literature studies, and interviews with online media editors.
The results of this study show that in framing news related to the film Dirty Vote, detik.com as an independent media can be seen from the selection of titles that focus on the responses of the interviewees and the way of choosing the point of view. So that the media detik.com can present pro to the community. Meanwhile, Republika.co.id framed the news related to the Dirty Vote film by focusing more on the impact caused by the controversy caused by the content of the Dirty Vote film. This can be seen from the style of writing the title to the technique of selecting sources which shows the imbalance and influence of media ownership affiliation.
